Edinn selected by the Valencian Community Automotive Cluster (AVIA)

Valencia. November, 28th 2011. The Valencian Community Automotive Industry Cluster (AVIA), integrated by companies whose revenues reached 8.8 billion euros, has selected the software solution EDINN M2 to implement its platform AVIA SET (Total Efficiency System).

AVIA, the Valencian Community Automotive Industry Cluster, is formed by companies like Ford Motor Company and other automotive companies from the Valencian Community. Total revenues of all AVIA members reached 8.8 billion euros in 2010 and they employed more than 15 thousand people.

One of the AVIA objectives is the improvement of its members competitiveness by providing the best tools of the market to get process optimization and continuous improvement, as the already performed projects named AVIA GOAL. In the last AVIA assembly, company members showed their satisfaction with these type of projects focused on the efficiency improvement and expressed their need to continue with a quantitative and benchmarking approach.

An important example of the concern regarding efficiency of AVIA companies, are the recent words of Ford Motor Company's president and CEO, Alan Mulally, indicating that Ford Valencia “quality and productivity is being increased every year and the combination Valencia-Spain is an essential point in Ford global quality plan”.

After an analysis on the different tools in the market, including visits to real installations, AVIA has decided to use the software EDINN M2. In words of the AVIA manager, Juan Luis Esteve, “we have chosen EDINN platform because we have verified that it is an effective solution and has been being used for years in associated companies, because it is the only tool we have found in the market for total efficiency, production and energy, and because its new 'cloud' technology lets us establish a total efficiency platform where benchmarking can be performed”.

For EDINN, in words of the CEO David Tronchoni, “this is a really important decission because the automotive sector is strategic for us, and AVIA groups 90% of it in the east of spain, and represents 10% of the total Valencian Community GDP”.
