Valencia (Spain), 12 August 2010. New White Paper on Energy Efficiency.  

Edinn has published a white paper (in Spanish) that we would like to share with you, in which immediate and future needs of companies in the field of efficiency, cost reduction, CO2 consumption and the greenhouse effect are analyzed.  The close relation between productive and energy efficiency, reduction on consumption and the influence on productive and energy efficiency improvement in a country´s industry and economy is shown in this document.

The calculation of CO2 could be mandatory in Europe during the next years. For example, in France, due to the Grenelle 2 Law, it will be mandatory for certain products starting on January the 1st, 2011, to indicate CO2 generated during its production.
 
One can imagine the impact of this information caused on the consumer, who could prefer one product rather than another, if this product has generated less CO2 in its production. At the same time, factories should know the CO2 of
its suppliers in order to add this to its own CO2 generation and to incorporate it to its product labels. Therefore this information does not only influence the final client’s decision, but it also influences decisions between suppliers.

To correctly calculate the generated CO2 it is necessary to monitor production as well as energy and material consumption. Later, in order to reduce the generated CO2, it is necessary to have tools to improve efficiency and obtain an important competitive advantage.
