What is MTBF? And what is MTTR? Print E-mail

MTBF means Medium Time Between Failures. MTBF is the medium time between each failure within a process, or in other words, the frequency of each failure.

MTTR means Medium Time To Repair, thus the medium untill having repaired the failure.

In other words, MTBF tells us the most frequent failures within a process and MTTR tells us which are the most serious failures.

Within edinn® M2, the server calculates the generic MTBF table (for all failures of each process), and the MTBF table depending on the actual active product (for failures when this determined product was active). It is possible to configure the server for the period for which to calculate the MTBF table.

edinn® M2 will show the following table in real time in each terminal:

This table shows, for each failure, the number of times it occured, MTBF, MTTR, and a calculation when the next failure will occur based on the last failure and adding the MTBF.
